CLAY COUNTY EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

The Secondary Education Department is designed to ensure the success of all secondary schools in Clay County by providing a framework of learning to innovate, engage and empower.

Constituency

All of us have our own, particular beliefs. A politician’s job is to work for and represent these beliefs. I do this independently of any affiliation to a political party.

Gallery

As the people’s representatives, we are elected to uphold our constitution and support democracy in our nation. This is what I, John Doe of Berlin, believe in and stand for.

Objectives

My gallery contains pictures of me at work, whether attending national congress or local meetings, opening ceremonies or factory tours. You will also find photographs that show aspects of my private life here.

The School Board of Clay County is pleased to have been awarded a 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant (21st CCLC) to impact four elementary schools.

The 21st CCLC initiative is a key component of the No Child Left Behind Act. Authorized under Title IV, Part B, of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, the specific purposes of the federal law are to:

  • Provide opportunities for academic enrichment, including providing tutorial services to help students, particularly students who attend low-performing schools, to meet state and local student academic achievement standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and mathematics.
  • Offer students a broad array of additional services, programs, and activities, such as youth development activities, drug and violence prevention programs, counseling programs, art, music, and recreation programs, technology education programs and character education programs, that are designed to reinforce and complement the regular academic program of participating students.
  • Offer families of students served by community learning centers opportunities for literacy and related educational development.

The Center for Adult & Community Education of the Clay County School District provides Adult Basic Education, GED Preparation, High School Completion, ESOL courses that focus on communication skills in the English Language, and Community Education Classes.  We are also a Pearson VUE Authorized Test Center specializing in GED, CompTIA, CDA, Cisco System exams, etc.
